Organized Labor, exactly that

The whole idea of Unions is to have working people join together as a unified force to face the economic and political power of corporations and other employers. Organized labor is a democratic process based upon a series of secret ballot elections where you, the worker, can freely express your desires and choices.

Teamsters Local 348, serving our members since 1933

This Local has a proud tradition of serving workingmen and women in and around Akron, Ohio. First chartered in 1933 our members work in a wide range of trades and industries. Teamsters Local 348 is a miscellaneous local representing member’s who are drivers, beverage, manufacturing, parcel delivery, dairy workers, construction and building material workers and more.

Membership meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month at 8:00 p.m., please plan to attend.

As a new member or an old member you are likely to have questions of Local 348 and, or your employer, Local 348 has trained individuals to help answer your questions. Shop stewards are individuals at your place of employment and business representatives who can be reached at Local 348’s offices. Business representatives are employees of Local 348 who have been assigned to ships that they visit on a regular basis to address members concerns, attend grievances, and administer contract negotiations.

As a member of Local 348 your employment is subject to a contract negotiated with your employer. By joining together we can negotiate with management to make your jobs better and make sure we all are treated fairly.
